Toru Hatta solo exhibition in Taiwan

An exhibition by Toru Hatta will be held at the Small Object Gallery +g in Taipei, Taiwan.

Here are his thoughts on ceramics and the upcoming exhibition:

“The most fascinating aspect of ceramics, in my opinion, lies in the process of entrusting the work to the kiln and allowing it to be completed, resulting in creations that are closer to nature. To bring out this aspect more effectively, I carefully choose materials and methods. The sensibility to appreciate nature is universal and holds great potential, transcending all boundaries. Moreover, it’s incredibly intriguing how the way ceramics are used can change slightly due to culinary culture, and it’s a significant challenge for me to see how my sensibilities resonate with the people of that country. This will be my fourth solo exhibition in Taiwan, and I hope that more people will incorporate my pottery into their daily lives. I would be grateful if you could come and see my work.”

八田亨的作品蘊涵細膩的技巧以及對自然的熱愛。

以穴窯燒製而成的作品手法講究，充分地展現了土壤與釉藥的原始之美。

「 陶藝最有趣的地方，在於最後將成品放至窯內完成，創作出更加親近自然的作品。

為了能充分地展現這種效果，我精心挑選著素材與方法。

人們對於自然的喜愛是普遍的，並具有超越國界的巨大可能。 

另外，根據飲食文化的不同，其使用方法也略有不同，這一點也很有趣。

如何讓不同國家的人與我的情感產生共鳴對我來說也是很大的挑戰。

這次是我在台第四次的個展，我由衷地期盼能讓更多人將我的作品運用在生活中。

1977年 出生於石川縣金澤市

2000年 大阪產業大學環境設計科畢業，進入舞洲陶藝館工作

2003年 搬到大阪府堺市正式獨立

2005年 入選朝日現代工藝展

2009年 於大阪首開個展

2017年 首次於UTSUWA SHOKEN舉辦個展

2018及2020年 於小器藝廊舉辦個展

2022年 於小器台中首次舉辦個展
